Do you really know?

What’s in your safety deposit box, that is. Or maybe it’s the bottom drawer in your desk. Or the top shelf in your closet.

We find that for many clients, things that are out of sight are out of mind. Especially when it comes to insurance policies.

Do you know where your policies are? Does your family – or how about your executor?

Do you recall what the intention of your policies were? Are they still relevant or needed in the first place? Are you overinsured or underinsured?

There is absolutely no shame in not knowing the answers to these questions. The truth is that many, many people – in fact, I would expect the majority of people – don’t know…and that’s okay. We are here to help.

We frequently encounter situations where policies have not been updated to align with the intention of the policy in the first place. Sometimes a simple check-in on the policies can make all the difference.

Just ask us, and we will give you our advice in the context of your overall financial plan, because decisions such as these should not be made in isolation. As you might expect from a firm with the name Surround, we insist on always taking the holistic view.

On that note, this is the perfect time to remind you that we want to manage everything. Every detail. That’s how we can add absolutely the most value – and ensure that you experience your wealth in exactly the way you want. Small details really are a huge deal – a belief that we’ve embedded right here in our Manifesto:

Mastery of the small details provides multiples of comfort to our clients. We make sure we have all the information we need – every small detail about your assets, overall financial picture and life goals – so we can make a truly big difference for you. Our three principals, along with our support staff, take a team approach, so you have multiple layers of people paying attention to your world.

If we don’t have every detail, what is the cost to you? It can be a substantial – and sometimes huge – estate and tax planning opportunity missed.

KNOW THIS:
So here’s what you can do right now, in the present: find your policies and ensure your POA and your executor know exactly where they are. Then call us for a review of those policies and how they fit into your overall financial plan.

There is no shame in not knowing, but know this: we are here to help.
